I'd like to finish up the story from back in July if I may. So we left off with the discovery of a post-closing visitor. So what did I do? I first had the alarm company send me a report of the last 2 years of alarm arms/disarms. Then I spent my days off marking off the culprit's entries with a highlighter. It was pretty clear who the guilty party was... The assistant, a shift and myself all had the same code. There were only 5 available codes because the system was so old... so that was the reason for sharing.
Now because both the assistant and myself had just gotten there and the behavior went on for a while before... Yep! It was the Shift. So we had a little meeting to to some discovery. Here's how the meeting went.
Ima: Alright... the three of us have the alarm code used for entering the the store against policy.
Assistant: We do?
Shift: I've always thought maybe one of our old managers was entering the store after close.
Ima: Yes... but before we go down that road, I went and talked to the night crew here to discuss if any of our current partners have been spotted in the adjacent grocery store after hours. I think you guys know where this is going.
Now I never did talk to the night crew, but I wanted to see the reaction to the statement. Needless to say, the Shift asked that the assistant leave the room so we could talk. After that talk the Shift was "Exploring other opportunities".
So here's the good news... All of the other partners were astounded that the 10+ year partner suddenly left and coincidentally that their tips rose $1.80/hour... Sales went up as well... Funny how those problems kinda solve themselves.
Have a good long weekend... Pat will be back on Tuesday.
Ima Clopener...
