Ellen Odee R.I.P.

Good morning... What can I get for you?

It's Tuesday and that means it's partner day! Today's story is written for those folks that I left behind at the SSC. It seems that the partner base is being sucked out as we speak.

This is a little story about Ellen Odee. Once upon a time there was a little department called Ellen Odee. Some folks get her and Owen Peedee mixed up, but they're one and the same. So Ellen had 5 kids... Tye, Bob, Lynda, Bee-rone, and Molly. Ellen's kids took alot of grief from the management, clients, and was basically unsupported in their quest to serve the organization with quality training programs. They tried and tried... doing things that they thought might be more efficient... folks took and took... never saying "thanks", "kiss my ass" or "boo" in the process. Unless they didn't get their way or needed to cover their ass...

Now, one day Bob decided he would find another family that might need him more and would appreciate his talents and give growth opportunities. He found one. Soon others followed... Ellen was left to fend for herself. All of the people of Starbucks land wondered how such a thing could happen. "How could such nice people leave such a company", they'd say... Then a lonely voice from the back of Learning Room B said... "the answers are in Partner View.... the answers are in Partner View".

People took notice... they read their survey results... and there it was... buried under percentages and action plans... the answer as to why they all left. His name?? Saul Lessbastard... he was the one that drove them away. It was there in the results.

Then one day, Ellen died... and a fella named Ken Vergis took over in her place.

God bless you Ellen... you had a good run.Good luck in your next life Ellen Odee... You and Owen Peedee will take your skills and knowledge to another organization where you can use your knowledge of LMS, SCORM, reusable objects and such to benefit others.

Now, I hope some of you can relate to this story... some won't... but you should remember this... A PhD never replaces a personality.

Have a good one... see you tomorrow for your usual.

Pat Nerr...

What a sad story! I was kind of hoping Saul Good would ride in at the end and save the day and everybody would live happily ever after!
