The Starbucks Joker

Good morning... What can I get for you?

Here's a good partner story. I've run across quite a few baristas in my time and none was as fun and frustrating to work with as a fella I'll call "Neil"...

Neil was a bit of a prankster. Not one to take a joke without retaliating, Neil tended to take things too far. I hadn't even thought of writing about Neil until I realized I was playing the Morrissey CD, he gave me for my birthday, on my way to work yesterday.

So here goes... Neil would think the following things were somewhat funny:
  • Put Vasoline on the door handles for the openers
  • Make you your "break drink" but make it something entirely different and shocking
  • Come to the back room and scare you
  • Glue pastry dishes together for the next dishwasher
  • Make a mocha powder bomb
  • Goop Vasoline under your door handle
  • Set 10-20 timers to go off at different times for the openers and then hide them in 10-20 different places... all synchronized to make you walk back and forth trying to find them
Yes, it was a bit annoying and frustrating, but he was a solid shift sup otherwise. He was also pretty even tempered until he got a joke played on him... So here's to Neil... I know you're reading this too buddy... What else are you going to do at the Starbucks Call Center...?

We'll see you tomorrow for your usual...
